My primary goal in working with clients is to pursue authenticity in relationship with self and others. It is a great tragedy to me that anyone would have to develop strategies for relational survival that result in living as a lesser version of themselves. I believe that most of our mental health issues are the result of injuries in relationship, and that healing can be experienced through a healthy, non-judgmental, therapeutic relationship.
My own sweet and messy journey through life involves struggling with chronic illness, depression, loneliness, and infertility. I’ve wrestled with God and questioned my faith as I longed for peace along the way, and I’ve found tremendous comfort in his radical acceptance of all my emotions as I seek to live my life well. I believe that knowing and accepting where you are is the first step in the process of movement towards a rich life that includes improved emotional and relational health. I want you to believe that things can be different, that life can be enjoyable again!
If you are feeling angry, depressed, anxious, or stuck; afraid that your life will never be what it should have been, I would be honored to sit with you and help you grieve your losses. Let me shoulder a bit of the burden, cleanse a bit of the wound. Maybe together we can find some of the hope that’s been misplaced.
